What is sperm freezing?
Sperm freezing is simply a way of preserving a sample of your sperm until you wish to try for a family. Before freezing, you are screened for infectious diseases and offered the chance to discuss the implications with an experienced counsellor. The sample is then frozen and stored under controlled conditions.
You give written consent covering how long the sample is stored and what happens to it. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Sperm freezing is simply a way of preserving a sample of your sperm until you wish to try for a family. There are many reasons why men freeze their sperm — the most common being medical treatments such as chemotherapy, which can affect fertility and sperm quality; before a vasectomy; and medical conditions which can affect the quality of sperm.
A straightforward process
Freezing sperm is a simple process. Before you freeze your sperm you will undergo screening to make sure you are free of any infectious diseases. You will also be offered the opportunity to discuss the implications of sperm freezing with one of our experienced counsellors.
Your consent, your control
You will need to give written consent for your sperm to be used. The consent form allows you to specify what happens to your sperm in the event that something happens to you, and how long you want the sample preserved for. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
